We've just finished an amazing summer, with everything from cooking classes to a jazz concert. We loved seeing you all at the library this summer--make sure you join us for these events in September!  

All our events are free, we only ask that you register by contacting the library at (856) 783-0602 or emailing either the Director or Assistant Director.

Chair Tai-Chi:  Wednesdays in September at 1PM.  Our teacher, Lori Moran, also is a novelist and a retired magician.  Ms. Moran taught Chair Yoga at the library this past Spring.

We learned about the importance of protein this afternoon, thanks to our guest dietitian, Catherine Perez from the Shop Rite stores in Chews Landing and Sicklerville.

Ms. Perez showed us how to make Chickpea Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip, which we served with apple slices.  Yes, you read that right: chickpeas and chocolate chips!  As one parent observed before the cooking lesson, "This could either go very wrong or be amazing!" From the enthusiasm in our library today, however, we think it's safe to say it was AMAZING.

We had a fantastic time at the library this afternoon, building some awe-inspiring Lego towers and--of course--stirring up some gooey, stretchy, colorful SLIME!  As promised, here are some links for kids who want to try making their own at home.  It was easy, and SO COOL!

We definitely are ready to Build a Better World this year!  Our Summer Reading Program for 2017 kicked off with a great event on Wednesday, June 28.  Thank you so much to the Woodford Cedar Run Wildlife Refuge for coming to our library, for discussing endangered animals in New Jersey with us, and introducing us to some amazing friends.  We got to meet a corn snake, a peregrine falcon, and a barred owl, and learned a lot about how their populations are faring in our state.  (We also learned a bit about the falcon poop splash zone--but it's all good!)
