Blenders and smoothies made for a deliciously loud afternoon in the library

July 23, 2017

Did you know that a banana was a berry?  Most of the participants in our second cooking class for kids last Wednesday did not know that, but some did know that whole grains are good for your heart, and that a healthy heart pumps blood and helps you share your love.

Thanks again to Catherine Perez of the Shop Rite stores at Chews Landing and Sicklerville for bringing her smoothie recipes to the library and helping our kids make some delicious noise. We made three recipes--Watermelon Strawberry smoothie, Blueberry Muffin smoothie, and Chocolate Covered Strawberry smoothie.  After thorough taste testing all around and some blue smoothie mustaches, the class voted Chocolate Covered Strawberry the winner by a narrow margin!

Ms. Perez returns for one more class this coming Wednesday, July 26.  If you would like to attend, please contact the library so we can make sure to have enough supplies for everyone.
