Summer Reading: Waffles and Sand Art

July 31, 2017

The Summer Reading group made dessert this past Wednesday--dessert pizza, to be specific! Who knew that a favorite breakfast staple like waffles could become a delicious dessert?  All you need is some fresh fruit, coconut and strawberry preserves.  Yum!  Thanks to Catherine Perez from the Shop Rite stores at Chews Landing and Sicklerville for another fun and nutritious treat.  She definitely inspired our kids to try some new things--and she made some kiwi converts during this visit!

For our last Building Club Friday, we added some beauty and art to our usual building activities.  We made our own colored "sand" for our sand art by using chalk to color salt.  We had a great time and made some beautiful jars of sand in vibrant layers.
