September is Library Card Sign Up month

September 18, 2017

September.  It's the month when we pick ourselves back up after our summer breaks, send the kids back to school, put the air conditioners and beach bags away, and think about pulling out our sweaters and jackets.  It's also a great month to visit the library and sign up for a library card!

If you're reading this, you probably already have a card.  But you also probably know someone who doesn't have one.  You may not realize it, but YOU are our best advertisement!

  • Have you attended a program at the library this year?  We had a very successful summer reading program for kids, a concert for all ages, and other events throughout the year.  If you have enjoyed attending an event at the library, please pass on the word, and keep an eye on our calendar.

  • Have you borrowed one of our museum passes?  We currently have passes for the Battleship New Jersey and the Camden Children's Garden, both of which allow free admission for multiple guests.

  • Have you tried Libby, the new Overdrive app for borrowing eBooks and eAudiobooks?  It works great, and , best of all, you can download these books any time of day, even when the library isn't open.

  • Sign up to read to a therapy dog at the library!  You don't have to be a little kid to enjoy doing this; its a great program for older students who are struggling with their reading, or who may be trying to learn to read English as a second language.  Therapy dogs are great listeners!  Call the library for more information.
